Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Wishing all of you a wonderful day with family and friends......and good food, of course!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A little early, I know, but I am about to get the cards in the mail and wanted to get these posted before I forgot. A few of these are going out in the mail and some of them went to the Meals on Wheels for their Thanksgiving trays.

I had to try the circle frames that Becca Feeken had on her blog, Amazing Paper Grace. If you haven't visited her blog yet, hop on over there quick! She does some really wonderful work! I think they turned out rather well and they are so easy to do. A little addictive as well. I tried alot of different punches and these are the ones that worked the best. The first one is the Wrought Iron Corner Adorner but I'm afraid I don't know the names of the others. You will probably recognize the designs, though. Some are Corner Adorners and some are Card Creators. The stamp is from Hero Arts, and the background stamp on the first one is from Impression Obsession.

MS/EK border punch for the strip in the middle, same stamp. CB embossing folder.

The turkey feathers are make with a scallop punch, then just cut the scallops in half. His body is the same punch, just trimmed up. I used parts of flower punches for his feet, wattle (that dangly thing under his beak - is that what it's called??) and beak. The layers behind him are done with one of the new Nestabilities sets, Labels 1 or 2, I forget which is which. The tag is also a Spellbinders die.

I did get into making some background papers. I really enjoy doing that from time to time, especially when I can't come up with any good card ideas. Or I am experiencing inspiration overload from looking at too many blogs or SplitCoast samples! I see so many wonderful cards and ideas but many times I get stuck for some reason and can't seem to come up with anything at all. The next 3 cards are inspired by these cards on Sharon Johnson's blog. The backgrounds are done with Inkadinkado stamps, the strips are done with CB embossing borders.

The pumpkin on this last card was made with a small Punch Bunch oval punch and I inked the edges of each one with Gingerbread Verasamagic ink. The swirl is a Sizzlet die.

That's what I have decided to name her. Isn't she adorable?

2007 Chrysler Pacifica, low mileage and in immaculate condition. It's not the loaded version but it has enough options for me - including heated seats (ahhhh) - and plays MP3s!! It's the little things. I had a Kia Optima before and was tired of crawling in and out of it, plus not being able to see what was ahead of me if I was behind a van, SUV, or big ol' honkin' truck! I hope to be driving this for some years to come - it's a sweet ride, rides like a big car and handles really well.

I absolutely hate car shopping. We found this one at a dealership in Monroe and thought we had negotiated (ok, DH did the negotiating) a good deal until we got home and looked on their website where it was listed for $1000 less than they quoted us!! What??? Well, Monday was spent renegotiating and looking at other cars just in case they wouldn't budge on the price. They budged enough and I didn't see anything else better anyway. Car prices never cease to amaze me - we bought a house 20 years ago that cost less than some of these vehicles. I know - 20 years ago is a long time, but I'm just saying.

I am all "moved in" and ready to go. I never would have chosen heated sets (or bun warmers as a friend of mine calls them) as an option but I am here to tell you that they are wonderful when you get in a cold car in the morning. It's a good thing, too, because it has leather seats and those puppies are chilly! Now I'm catching flak from DH because when he bought his last one I asked him not to get leather seats because I didn't like them. But I didn't know about bun warmers! We'll see what happens in the summer, the seats are not air conditioned, unfortunately.

Gray interior and LOTS of room. Very comfy indeed.

Fall is in the air...

and I felt like making a few cards with some lovely Fall colors. I love this time of year and all of the colors in the foliage here. The leaves are slowly falling off, though, and it's starting to look a little more like winter. Can't we just use some really good glue and glue the leaves back on? Maybe some red line tape would work. I wish they would stay on a little longer, they are just so beautiful!

Stampendous stamp, colored with Copic markers, CB embossing folder, Michael's ribbon.

Same stamp, same markers, the background leaf stamps are Inkadinkado, and I used the Autumn Leaves Kaleidacolor ink pad for the piece on the bottom. I stamped several whole sheets and cut them up as I needed them. Sometimes it's just fun to make some backgrounds - no stress, no pressure.

Same Inkadinkado stamp, Papertrey Polka Dot Basics for the background, CB embossing border folder, MS/EK border punch, SU Ticket Corner punch, Hero Arts gems, misc. flowers.
I haven't decided whether I will send these out as Happy Thanksgiving/Happy Fall cards or just donate them to the Meals on Wheels people. I will try to make some more tomorrow and see what happens. I have more Fall-themed stamps (leaves, pumpkins, etc.) and want to ink them up, at least! I do need to get started on Christmas cards soon, too, it's creeping up on us.

We spent yesterday finalizing the deal on my new (to me) car!!! I will take a photo of her tomorrow and post it - she's wonderful and I am so happy to have a beautiful new vehicle to drive. DH has made noises that maybe his Sorrento would suit me better now....uh huh, right. Safe to say he loves the new one, too, it is a sweet ride!
