Stamp TV

You may notice that I've added a blinkie thingie on the right sidebar for StampTV. It was recently started by Gina K of Gina K Designs (like any of you don't know who she is!) and there are discussion groups, videos, a gallery and thousands of members. It looks like it is going to be a fun place to hang out, so stop on over and check it out! Just click on the blinkie and it will take you there.

I’m doomed

Elzybells has released some new stamps…. they’re cupcakes. Like I need another cupcake, right? *SIGH*. And they are just the cutest things….go see for yourself. In case any of you are wondering, my birthday is in August but I gladly accept early birthday presents :-) Just sayin’…

Excellent Copic Information

Over here on Jane's Whoopsie Daisy! blog. She explains the naming/numbering mystery and lots more. I found it very interesting and informative.

Totally not stamping related but too adorable not to share. This little kitty looks exactly like our Mikey and this is something he would do, too. Enjoy!

A New Trend?

I have noticed a fair amount of bloggers are decorating the inside of their cards lately. In fact, a woman brought some cool ones into Stamper’s Alley a few weeks ago that were all decked out on the inside, too. The advantage I can see immediately is less room to write, less white space to fill up. While some may see this as a disadvantage, I think it is a good thing. By the time I am through making a card the last thing I want to do is to use what little brain matter I have left to come up with something witty and/or inspiring for the inside.  I realize that may sound cold and uncaring, but I am not the only one, I’m sure. Admit it, people. Don’t you think we need more “inside the card” stamps……manufacturers, are you listening?

So, in light of what seems to be a growing trend, I thought I’d try my hand at it. Here is my first attempt:

First the outside:

feb_09 005-1

Then the inside:

feb_09 006-1

So, I tried again:

The outside:

feb_09 007-1

The inside:

feb_09 008-1

Much more better (I know, not proper grammar, but I don’t care).

This card idea (at least the outside) was stolen from inspired by this card by Stacey on Rebel Inker. She does some of the coolest stuff and I was just fascinated by this card so I had to try it out for myself. I added some Shimmerz to the flowers and Stickles to the flower center for a little bling. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts clear set. I really enjoyed making this flower (ok, half of a flower) and you may be seeing more of these in the future. If you decide to have a go at it I’d love to see your finished cards. Leave a comment here or send me an email with a link to the card.

I will leave you with an LOLCat:

Valentines Received

I did not send any Valentine cards out this year, even though I made more than enough for the Kitty City dinner and have every one of them left! Yep, not a single one sold. I don’t think people were aware that they were there or else everyone had already gotten theirs, but I will have alot for next year. I do have some sweet friends that were kind enough to send me a card, though, and here they are:

From Brenda – aren’t those kitties adorable?

And she also gave me this cute little nugget purse (candy has been devoured!)

From Pat – what a beautiful flower! I don’t know if you can see it well but the word is embossed with embossing paste and glittered, it’s just beautiful!

This is also from Pat, a lovely little box (again with the gorgeous flower) full of candy (yep, devoured)

From Emogene – I love all of the hearts on this card, she always does such pretty things!

From Barbara in Wisconsin – I love the non-traditional Valentine colors

From Karen K – it’s just adorable, I love that paper!

More candy boxes, one from Joy (her bow was much more attractive but I had to untie it to get to the yummies inside)

a nugget box from Vicki (no bow, easy to get the goodies out :-)

Thank you all so much!

A Few More Valentines

These are some that I made to send and a few left over from last year that I never got around to posting.

Hearts and scallops and ribbon....oh, my!

Yes, I am finally finished with the Valentine's Day cards for Kitty City! Well, almost finished. I still have to decide what to stamp on the inside and on the back...*sigh*. But here they are in all their glory. I didn't want to make them all the same, and coming up with the design is the most difficult part for me. I did make a few of each one but tried to change them up a little every time.

This one took me forever to color because I always have a hard time with kitties. There are only so many colors you can color a kitty (gray, orange, brown, black, calico) and I wanted to do some orange tabbies, but do you think I could find the right shade of orange for them in my vast collection of coloring mediums??? No. So I settled for gray and I think they turned out well.

Well, there you have it. I made about 35 total and hope they all sell. I need to get busy on the insides and since so many of them already have Happy Valentine's Day on the outside I will have to come up with something else for the inside. I do have a couple of verses but if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
We are having Springtime weather here and it is beautiful outside today. I hope you are all enjoying your day wherever you are.

Snow Day!!!

Yes, it's snowed, finally. It looks like we got 2 - 3 inches of the lovely white stuff and I love it! I did take some photos of it all and wish I had been able to get more last night. It was all over the trees and branches.... so pretty. Most of it had blown off of the trees by this morning. The kitties aren't too sure what to make of this wet, cold stuff but Alex is braving the elements and hanging out outside - silly cat. The rest are snuggly warm in the house, sleeping away.

This was last night while it was falling. It was coming down pretty good in big, poofy flakes.

And this is what it looked like this morning:

Pay no attention to the trailer across the street...

Alex isn't quite sure about the whole thing:

The front sidewalk - what a pretty pattern:

Poor little Mikey:

feb309 029

Sort of resembles an ice cream cone, doesn't it?

It's starting to melt in places now :-( Stay warm everyone!

We have a winner!!!

Thank you all for the blog links, I have enjoyed browsing around them. Some of them I already subscribe to, but apparently didn't have on my list. I really do need to update it. I did find some new ones and I appreciate your help! So, without further ado....

In between Super Bowl commercials (the best part of the game as far as I'm concerned) I consulted with random.dh and he chose #23. Stamp~n~Ink~Lady Lori send me your mailing address and I will get the goods in the mail to you tomorrow.

The commercials aren't that good this year, I think. Was it last year that they had the caveman FedEx commercial? I love that one - they should run it again this year. I haven't seen one that I enjoyed that much in a while. Where are they getting these ad agencies from...so many of the new commercials don't even make any sense!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

White House Blog

I'm sure I am not the only one who was unaware that the White House had a blog, so here's the link for those of you who are interested in following it:
White House Blog
You can add it to your Google Reader and keep up with it that way, too.
There is also another site that is still under development but could be interesting once it's up and running:
I haven't forgotten about the blog candy drawing, but I am going to give you all until 6pm EST to enter and I will announce a winner at 9pm EST tonight, so be sure to check back.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday (who's playing and where is it being played ??) :-)
