What I’ve been up to

Just a couple of projects from the past few weeks and one for a class coming up at Stamper’s Alley .

This is the class I will be teaching in May – Paper Gardening. Lots of punches and not much stamping, but I just love the flowers and bright colors.

I saw one of these on Lauren’s blog a while back and she sells a template for it on PaperTrey, but I took a stab at making one from scratch and this is what I came up with. It may not be exactly the same as hers but I’m happy with it. It will hold six cards and envelopes, and may end up being another class this summer.

I copied these cards from one sent to Stamper’s Alley by Barbara Hammerstad and just changed the colors a bit. You can find her original in the Gallery there under her name. The stamp set is Flower Chat from Stampendous and they are colored with Copic markers. The ScorPal makes it so easy to do gatefold cards! I used to have such trouble getting the measurements right but it’s a no-brainer with this tool.

Mail Scam Alert

Not that any of you would fall for this, but please pass it on. I received a letter in the mail from a company in Canada named National Survey, with a check for $1750. They want me to deposit it, draw out $1280 in cash and wire it to some woman in Orlando as part of a Secret Shopper "training program". Yeah right. Total scam. I reported it to the TV news stations and we'll see if they run it but I wanted to get the word out here, too. It all looks very official and I’m afraid with the economy being what it is that more people will fall for it this time.

I don’t know how they got my name and address, but I suppose that’s not that hard to come by these days. You’d think the banks would want to know, and law enforcement, but I doubt there’s anything they could do about it anyway. Any ideas who else I should contact, if anyone?

Please pass the word – you just never know what someone will fall for.

Spring Fever

We are getting Spring weather in small bits and today was just beautiful. Cooler weather is coming back in next week but nothing like some of you around the country have been having! Maybe these will help a little.

The flowers on both of them are made with Punch Bunch punches (and a couple of Martha Stewart punches) and Stardreams paper. The paper on the front is by Doodlebug Designs.

I found this template on someone’s blog and had to make one…ok, two. It’s a basket – you can kind of see that on the one on the left. How cute is that?? You could use leaves for a Fall basket, Christmas ornaments, Easter eggs, ghosts for Halloween – lots of possibilities. The flowers are made with the Sizzix Daisies #2 die and I added some Stardust Stickles in the center of each flower.
