Happy Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Even though I don’t decorate the house anymore, I still love making cards for the occasion. I finally got them in the mail today and hope everyone receives them on time. The one day our mail carrier arrives early – so I took them to the PO and dropped them in the box inside. Since there are several different designs I am ok with posting them here before anyone receives them because no one knows who’s getting what. So, here they are in all of their glory:

October09 002

This is a CASE of a card I saw on someone’s blog (but, as usual, I can’t remember whose). I used the Nestabilities die that is similar to the Top Note die for the head and hair, and the rest is done with circle punches. The spiky bangs are cut with scissors. I am no good with scissors, but this was pretty hard to mess up! The mouth and scars are drawn with a Micro pen, I used a white and the spider web on the background is an Inkadinkado stamp.

October09 004

Lizzie Anne Designs stamp for the verse – I won it as blog candy last year, the spider web behind the verse is an Inkadinkado clear stamp, MS Spider Web Border and Bat punches, ghosts punched with a Punch Bunch punch.

October09 005

I do lurv the kittehs. Penny Black kitty wizard, MS Drippy Goo border punch, BG Eerie paper, Hero Arts Metallic Purple Flat Gems.

October09 006

Memory Box web and spider stamp, I don’t know who makes the Happy Halloween stamp, sorry. Black Stickles on the spiders, but it doesn’t show up well in the photo.

And now for my personal favorite:

October09 001

Inkadinkado stamp, sponged with Concord and Mustard Seed Distress Inks, Nestabilities Labels Die (I forget the #), the graveyard was cut using the Silhouette.

If I hadn’t bought other Halloween stamps and felt guilty for not using them, I would have made all of them like the last one. I really like the way that one turned out. The Distress Inks are so wonderful for sponging!

I saw a tissue paper flower on a blog and thought I’d give it a try. It’s more trouble than it appears to be because the tissue paper becomes a little hard to separate once it’s run through the Big Shot, but the results are very pretty. I need to use more tissue paper next time, though, for a fluffier flower. This was my first attempt.

October09 007

I used yellow and coral inks for brayering onto the tissue paper and you can see the various colors better in person. I wonder how it would look with some paper napkins. Perhaps some with a Monet-like watercolor print. Hmmmm….I wonder if I have any of those left. Or – maybe start with a solid color napkin and just brayer on one other color. Just trying to think of ways to save time and effort :-) Suggestions?

Happy Birthday!

Another birthday card – this is for Claire in St. Augustine. If you are ever down that way, do stop in and see her. She has a wonderful store and is a sweet person. I miss her alot!

October09 023

The cupcake is paper pieced, with some Glossy Accents on the cherry and Stickles on the confetti. The stamps are all Hero Arts, the yellow flower is one I crocheted, and the ribbon is from Michael’s (I think).

the inside:

October09 025

I used a Nestabilities label die for the sentiment. The punch at the bottom is a Tonic punch. I put some double sided tape behind it and sprinkled some glitter over it for a little extra bling.

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. We are going to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow, providing it isn’t raining. If you have never been to one, you really should go – it’s lots of fun!

Another Birthday Card and Good News!

I won Bev's blog candy!!! If you didn't hop over there and check it out you missed out....but do stop over and show her some love :-). Thanks, Bev!!

Here's a birthday card I made for another dear friend of mine. The image is a Bella Chichiboulie (sp?) - Matilda Muffinbread - colored with Copics and the background is airbrushed using a Copic marker. I love that thing! I tried to just go around the edges but that will take some more practice, so I masked the image and went to town with it. She even has glittered wings, as well as glittered icing on the cupcake/muffin. I bought a bunch of charms a while back and this is the first card that I've used them on - but it won't be the last. I love the look. I forget where I saw them but I really liked the look and am glad I found some that will work.

I hope everyone had a wonderful World Card Making Day yesterday. Goodnight...sleep well.
