Crocheted Hearts
Since it’s getting close to Valentine’s Day and (mostly) since I found this tutorial on Little Birdie Secrets, I decided to try my hand at some crocheted hearts. They work up really quickly and would be the perfect addition to a Valentine’s Day card, don’t you think? I won’t be making any new cards for Valentine’s this year because I still have a boatload left over from an event last year, which was hosted by they-who-shall-not-be-named (aka they-whom-I-wish-I-had-never-heard-of).
Anyway, here's what I came up with. I used a size 3 (3.25mm) crochet hook and size 10 cotton crochet thread on the smaller ones and a size 4 (3.5mm) crochet hook on the larger ones. I think I like the smaller ones better.
Close-ups:
Never mind the cat fur on this one, I will remove it before I use it :-)
I made a snowman the other day. He’s not much to look at and he’s very small but it’s the first one I’ve ever made. Sand castles I can do…snowpeople, not so much. He’s almost all melted now and looks pretty pitiful. More pitiful, I should say.
I didn’t put hands, buttons, eyes, or a nose. By then I was cold enough and was happy just to have done one!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and may your team win tomorrow. We just watch for the commercials. Speaking of which, check this out:
It probably won’t make the cut for the Super Bowl, but it is hilarious! Enjoy.
